Surf & Turf Weekend
13th July 2023 - 16th July 2023
Join our mid-summer 3 night ‘Surf & Turf Weekend Thursday 13th – Sunday 16th July 2023 in Beautiful Bridlington Bay.
We have a varied programme taking in some of the delights of the East Riding of Yorkshire’s Premier Resort. This is a relaxed weekend, with no formal dinners, just smart dress code with gentlemen wearing a collar in the evenings. ‘Whilst we have laid on some transport we have also selected venues which are within reasonable walking distance which we hope will afford you more flexibility to enjoy this chilled seaside town. You may wish to pack things like Binoculars, Beach Towel, Wet suit …
Venture to Bridlington on Thursday, settle into your accommodation, and meet us at Belvedere Golf Clubhouse from 6pm for a relaxed welcome and social evening. Then it’s back to Belvedere, irrespective of your accommodation, for breakfast each morning between 7 and 9am.
On Friday, after breakfast at Belvedere Hotel & Golf, we have a choice of three daytime events to suit all tastes – a round of golf (with perhaps a bit of a competitive edge) a magnificent coastal walk (about 10 miles, so not for the faint hearted!) and a trip via the land trains to Sewerby Hall, Zoo and Gardens. The meal on Friday evening is hosted in a local restaurant.
Saturday sees us all venturing up to the Old Town of Bridlington, including a tour of the 800 plus year old Priory and the Baylegate Museum (what was left of the Augustinian Monastery after the dissolution), and the second longest Georgian Street in the UK housing antique shops, galleries, ye olde inns and coffee shops. This is followed by a trip on the famous Yorkshire Belle up to Bempton Cliffs to see some of the 500,000 birds which nest and raise their young each year. With a bit of luck the sea may also offer a treat of seals, porpoises, the odd dolphin and possibly even a whale, if we’re really lucky! This is followed by a meal and entertainment at the Yacht Club. [NOT Black Tie, smart attire with men to wear a collar, same with every evening).
Sunday is a chill-out at the beach day. Enjoy a stroll in the swash down to Fraisthorpe for a coffee at The Cow Shed, or enjoy free time around the resort, or hang loose at the beach hut, join in the Yoga session, have a go at paddle boarding, build a sand castle, …. (ERYC Coastal Services offer, bookable, beach buggies for anyone who is a regular ‘wheel’ user and fancies a beach walk or dip in the sea!) In the afternoon there’s an opportunity for up to 12 senators to venture out into the bay on the traditional Sailing Cobles with the National Preservation Society based here in the harbour. Or, take a tour of the harbour and learn more of the history or The Quay!
Then, it’s time to venture homeward, or stay and have a Carvery with us.
Further Options

Yoga on the Beach – with the sun rising over the east coast and the waves lapping the shore, this is the most wonderful way to start your day. Each morning (7am Friday and Saturday, and 10am Sunday) there’s Yoga for all, wear something comfortable and move to the extent your body will allow.
A Beach Hut – that icon of the seaside, has been booked for the whole weekend. It is awaiting you anytime you fancy opting out to build a sandcastle, taking a turn on a paddle board, or just want to sit and watch the waves!
