EC2020-Pretour

23rd May 2020 - 27th May 2020

The EC2020 Senate Pre Tour Coach 1 Full

Please contact James regarding a possible 2nd coach

Dear fellow Senator,

Thank you very much for expressing your interest in joining the EC2020 Senate pre tour. We very much look forward to welcoming you to Ireland in May of next year.

I am very pleased to be able to inform you that registration forms for the Senate pre tour will be available to download from the EC2020 website

www.jciec2020.com/senate-programme/

from  Friday (11th October) noon (Irish time!) and we look forward to receiving your completed Registration Form and proof of payment.

We were somewhat overwhelmed at the level of interest expressed in the pre tour. To date over 120 senators or partners have expressed interest in joining us in Ireland in May 2020. As we had originally planned a tour for 50 people, we have worked hard over the summer to facilitate as many senators as possible. I am delighted to announce that we are now in a position to offer two tours, in fact the tours are almost identical except that they will operate in opposite directions. The first tour, as previously described, will leave from one of the hotels at Dublin airport at 2pm on Saturday 23rd of May and head for the town of Ennis in Co. Clare, on the West of Coast of Ireland. Participants will spend three nights in the Old Ground Hotel and we will visit the Cliffs of Moher, Connemara National Park, and Galway City (European City of Culture 2020) before heading to the medieval city of Killkenny and overnighting in the Newpark Hotel before stopping in Glendalough on the return journey to Dublin on Wednesday 27th of  May.

The second tour will also depart from a hotel in Dublin airport at 2pm on Saturday 23rd and will head to the city of Killkenny where participants will spend three nights and visit Glendalough, Kilkenny city and its castle and the city of Cork before travelling on to the Old Ground Hotel in Ennis for the fourth night and a visit to the Cliffs of Moher and The Burren before returning to Dublin on Wednesday 27th of May.

Participants on both tours will experience a traditional Irish gala of Irish music and dance and breakfast and dinner will be served to all participants each night. The cost of both tours is the same, €486 per person sharing and €485 for the very limited number of single rooms available in each hotel on both tours.

As we require 50 senators to make each tour viable the first tour will only be confirmed once we have 50 senators confirmed and registered and the second once we reach 100. The maximum number of senators we can accommodate on the two tours in 106. Any registration received after the maximum can only be facilitated on a replacement basis.

Before registering please note the following:

  1. While the senate pre tour is being organized by senators for senators, it has been agreed with the EC2020 COC that only senators and partners registered for EC2020 are eligible to participate in the senate pre tour. Our understanding is that this is a requirement at all JCI International Conferences. The good news is that the change in conference venue to University College Dublin (UCD) means that a much more affordable option of on-campus accommodation is available to all senators and partners throughout the duration of the conference. Please also note that the Senate Hotel is now the Herbert Park Hotel in Ballsbridge from which shuttle busses will run during the conference to UCD. A full Senate Programme will operate throughout the conference.
  2. It is our intention to confirm receipt of senate pre tour registration forms and payment on a weekly basis. We will also be able to check conference registration on an ongoing basis and therefore ask for your patience in confirming receipt of registration. Places on both tours will be confirmed in order of receipt of registrations and payment.
  3. You will have the option to express your preference for each tour on the registration form and please be assured that if only one tour operates due to insufficient registration, places on the first tour will be allocated on the basis of registrations received, regardless of tour preference expressed.
  4. Senators from within the EU are required to carry a valid European Health Insurance Card with them and Senators from outside the EU are required to have valid personal medical insurance.

Should you require any clarification or additional information please don’t hesitate to contact us at moc.liamg@0202ruoterpetanes
