The EC2020 Senate Pre Tour.

The Senate of JCI Ireland is delighted to invite members of the British Senate to join us on a five-day tour prior to the start of EC2020 in Dublin. This tour has been prepared and will be led by Senators, for Senators (and their partners) and will visit places of historical interest and beauty, which have special meaning for the Senators organising the tour

The tour will depart from Dublin Airport at 2pm on Saturday 23rd May 2020. Our journey will take us to a number of stops on the Wild Atlantic Way where there will be opportunities to visit the Cliffs of Moher and to walk through the lunar-like landscape of the Burren, which boasts unique flora and fauna. We will also visit Galway, the City of the Tribes and the medieval city of Kilkenny and the sixth century monastic settlement in picturesque Glendalough (both stops on Ireland’s Ancient East).

We will spend three nights in the family-owned and run, four-star Old Ground Hotel in the heart of Ennis where we will enjoy traditional Irish music and dancing and will celebrate our friendship during an Irish banquet. We will also spend a night in the four-star Newpark hotel in Kilkenny where we can relax in the outdoor infinity pool.

Accommodation is on a bed and breakfast basis and three course dinners are included on each night. Arrangements for a light lunch will be available at participants expense each day. Transport will be by private coach with free WiFi and toilet facilities on board. Alcohol will be available at participants own expense.

The tour will end on Wednesday 27th May at the designated Senate Hotel in good time for the Opening Ceremony. Due to the unpredictable nature of Irish weather senators are advised to pack rain gear and to be aware that to explore the barren Irish landscape a robust pair of walking shoes or boots are highly recommended.

The cost per person sharing a double or twin room is €485 which includes accommodation, transport, meals as outlined above, an Irish banquet, all entry fees and guide costs. A very limited number of single rooms are available at a supplement of €140.

Places are restricted to 50 senators on a first come first served basis. Expressions of interest and queries should be sent to Senator James Corcoran, 60229, corcoranjames@yahoo.com Details of how to register and pay to follow.

*Please note that all participants are strongly advised to bring their European Health Insurance Card (if citizens of the EU) or to arrange travel insurance prior to leaving home.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Emerald Isle in May 2020!”

The senate Conference programme will consist of business and cultural tours on both Thursday & Friday, an opportunity to play golf and of course the senate lunch on Saturday. More details as we get closer to the conference.
