St Davids Weekend

21st March 2024 - 24th March 2024

BRITISH SENATE CELTIC WEEKEND

You are invited to make a modern-day pilgrimage to St Davids, in the spring of 2024 for an extended Senate weekend to see the spectacular scenery and discover the history of Pembrokeshire.

St Davids, the smallest City in Britain, is located at the extreme Southwest tip of Wales, is a place of legend and mysticism, and the pace of life is such that there is no word in the Welsh language to convey the urgency of “maniana”!

Recognising that you will have to travel further than most Senate weekends we have organised a programme for the Friday, there will be a tour of “Little England beyond Wales” (that’s South Pembrokeshire) where you will learn about the profusion of Norman castles, visit a restored water mill, sample wine from the western most vineyard in Britain and see where the Tudor dynasty began.

Saturday will include a visit to a working Woollen Mill, retrace the steps of the last invaders of Britain, and hear about the only marine farm in Wales. You can also visit the famous Cathedral or simply relax in the city, followed by the usual formal Senate Dinner

Sunday, weather permitting, we will organise an exciting boat trip followed by lunch before you commence your journey home.

The whole event will be based at the St Davids Cross hotel. Space in the hotel is limited so best to book early.

Book the hotel with Bill Preece 07836 747226 before booking your activities.
