Saturday Daytime
We will go by coach to one of the best-preserved Medieval villages in England where we will visit Lavenham Guildhall which is owned by the National Trust and is one of the most spectacular timber framed buildings of medieval England. After an hour or so in Lavenham we shall then travel to Bury St. Edmunds which is the home of Saint Edmund, the original patron Saint of England.

For lunch we shall visit the Greene King Brewery’s café for a hot buffet. After lunch you will be able to join a Greene King brewery tour (additional cost of £20) or take a stroll around the Cathedral, Abbey Gardens or the Town Centre which is usually bustling on a Saturday. Please note that there will be a number of stairs to climb on the Brewery Tour and no walking aids are permitted. Around 4pm we will take the coach back to the hotel where you can make use of the hotel facilities before dinner.

Sunday Morning
After breakfast you are invited to join us for a guided walking tour of Colchester (Britain’s First City but also one of its newest) for an estimated cost of £10. For those travelling by car we shall advise where to meet and for those of you needing transport we will help to find space in a car for you. If interested, we shall organise somewhere for lunch on Sunday (at additional cost) before we bid you a fond farewell as you make your way home.
